Focus for the 2025 National Women’s Month Celebration
The year 2025 marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Philippines and globally. This year commemorates:
1. The 50th anniversary of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW);
2. The 30th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA);
3. The 45th year of the Philippines’ signing of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW);
4. Three decades since the introduction of the Gender and Development (GAD) budget policy under the 1995 General Appropriations Act (RA 7845); and
5. The culmination of the 30-year Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (PPGD).
